Clear terms on cancellations, refunds, and state filing fees.
Effective Date: January 1, 2026 · Last Updated: January 1, 2026
You may cancel a tax preparation or bookkeeping engagement at any time before work has begun for a full refund of fees paid. Once preparation work has started — including data entry, review of documents, or draft return preparation — fees become non-refundable in proportion to work completed, as work has already been performed on your behalf.
Our LLC formation service fee ($100 Basic / $199 Standard / $349 Premium) may be refunded in full if you cancel before we submit your Articles of Organization to the state. Once your filing has been submitted to the state, our service fee becomes non-refundable, as the work of preparing and filing has been completed.
State filing fees are official government fees, collected on behalf of and paid directly to your state's Secretary of State office. These fees are always non-refundable once submitted to the state, regardless of the outcome of your application, as they are outside our control and payable to a third-party government agency.
Add-on services (EIN application, Operating Agreement, Registered Agent Service, S-Corp Election, DBA filing, trademark filing, annual report filing, website & hosting) follow the same principle: refundable before work begins or filing is submitted, non-refundable once completed or submitted to a government agency.
IRS representation engagements are quoted individually based on case complexity. Refund eligibility for representation services is outlined in your specific engagement letter, as these cases often involve time-sensitive work with the IRS that begins immediately upon engagement.
To request a cancellation or refund, email info@taxelconsulting.com with your name and order details. We will confirm the status of your engagement and process any eligible refund within 5–10 business days.
Annual services such as Registered Agent Service and Business Website & Hosting may be cancelled before renewal to avoid future charges. Fees already paid for the current service period are non-refundable but the service will remain active through the end of the paid term.
